Abstract/Contents: | Describes the renovation of pitches in London's Regents Park. States that "special cultivars are able to create these hard-wearing sports pitches thanks to extensive windchill trials carried out in the Cairngorms [of Scotland]." Discusses the testing of grass cultivars "at three altitude levels...[and] clearly demonstrated which seeds germinated most speedily at these extremely low temperatures." Concludes that "the information gained from the Cairngorms enabled the formulation of mixtures for high profile locations including the Royal Parks and Wembley." |
