Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the role of green chairmen in golf course operations. States that "some [superintendents] disagree [about] the benefits of a chairman and a Green Committee. They claim that green chairmen are often on an ego trip and want to make dramatic changes to the golf course during their tenure, so to leave a living legacy of themselves. Some horrible mistakes have been made and good golf courses ruined as a result of misguided chairmen, but many others have made positive contributions." |
