| Abstract/Contents: | Of 29 entries of 11 species of turf grasses that were examined in a nursery in Nebraska in 1973-1975 for larvae of the weevil Sphenophorus parvulus Gylh., only Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis ) showed significant infestation, with densities averaging 3.05 - 14.45 larvae/9.3 dm2. Positive correlations were found between the level of infestation in Kentucky bluegrass and the number of live stems, and between the level of infestation and thatch thickness. |
