| Abstract/Contents: | Gives a brief history of alternative football field surfaces and discusses potential maintenance problems that accompany these artificial surfaces. Divides maintenance into six areas: fiber management, infill management, pitch surrounds management, wear management, performance testing, and resource management. Concludes that "without the ability to physically recover from surface wear, it is important to undersatnd that the aim of maintenance then focuses solely on preservation rather than recuperation as with natural turf." |
