| Abstract/Contents: | "Dollar spot (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa) is a common disease of golf course fairwyas throughout New England and the United States. Although there are several cultural management practices that can assist in reducing disease severity, use of protective chemicals usually is necessary to control the disease during periods favorable for growth of the pathogen. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability of various fungicides, rates, and intervals for their ability to preventively control dollar spot. Dollar spot pressure in Storrs was extremely low in 2005. An average of ā¤ 4.4 infection centers were observed during the peak disease activity and all fungicides provided greater levels of control when compared to the untreated plots. There were no differences in the level of dollar spot among the various fungicides tested." |
