| Abstract/Contents: | "The efficacy of various fungicides for controlling summer patch (Magnaporthe poae) was evaluated. The study site was an annual bluegrass (Poa annua) fairway at Pautipaug Country Club located in Baltic, CT. Treatments were initiated on 1 June and applications were reapplied on the dates footnoted in the data tables. The fairway turf was mowed to a height of 0.5 inches and subjected to routine maintenance practices throughout the growing season. During 2005, the region was subjected to extreme temperature stress and natural precipitation was minimal. Although summer patch was present during the study, drought stress and wilt resulted in a decline of the area and contributed to the death of much of the turf within the study site. Due to difficulties in differentiating between drought stress and summer patch damage, disease ratings were highly variable and no differences in disease severity were observed among fungicide treatments on any rating date." |
