| Abstract/Contents: | The resistance of Canada bluegrass (Poa compressa ) and 23 cultivars of Kentucky bluegrass ( P. pratensis) to damage by biotypes C and E of Schizaphis graminum (Rond.) was determined in greenhouse tests in Nebraska in 1979 and 1981. Damage ratings made 4 and 5 weeks after infestation showed that both biotypes caused greater damage to plants infested 1 week after emergence than to those infested 6 weeks after emergence. The cultivars responded similarly to both biotypes at 5 weeks after infestation. Entries that showed the highest levels of resistance included Canada bluegrass and the Kentucky bluegrass cultivars South Dakota Common, Nebraska Common, Vantage and Sydsport. |
