Abstract/Contents:Compares and contrasts lawn-tennis to golf, including rules and play procedures. States that the "first vital difference is in the play of the two games, and that which underlies most of the difficulties a player of one encounters at the other, is the fact that in tennis [one] always strike[s] a moving ball, while in golf the object of the attack is invariably stationary when hit." Provides pictures of people playing lawn-tennis and of people playing golf. Lists tips for the golfer who wishes to take up tennis, including "1) think and movie quicker than he is accustomed to, and not wait till the ball stops before he decides how to hit it; 2) must accentuate the stokes more, and not push the ball away from him; 3) must hit the ball with the centre of the strings, and not depend on any part of the raquet to drive as well; 4) must lean forward more and follow the ball farther in striking, and not hold the weight back with fixed feet, and 5) must prepare for the next stroke the instant one is made."
