| Abstract/Contents: | Toxicological data from laboratory studies on 13 south-Florida strains of Blissus insuloris Barber confirmed high resistance to chlorpyrifos, an organophosphate insecticide; 3.41-fold to 3.19 × 108-fold levels of resistance at LC50 were detected in a 70-km coastal area of metropolitan Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida. A 9.25-fold level of resistance to an alternative carbamate insecticide, propoxur, was demonstrated. |
