Abstract/Contents:Presents the results of an analysis of "10 markets 'that have the best potential interest in compost.'" States that the survey, conducted by horticultural researchers at Illinois State University, University of Illinois, and Texas State University, focused on evaluating "potential paying markets for compost using Illinois as a model." Also states that the survey had a 33.7 percent response rate and "most interest in composting was shown by commercial tree growers, nurseries and greenhouses, landscape contractors and law care operations." Concludes that "potential market for compost in Illinois greatly exceeds production; Greenhouses, sports turf operations and landscape contracts are most likely purchasers."
