Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "planning projects to counter a reliance on town-supplied potable water to reduce the risk of losing normal water flows" at Cranbourne Turf Club and Cranbourne Training Centre located in Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia. Describes two projects initiated at the Cranbourne Turf Club: "the construction of a 24 megalitre stormwater dam in an area adjacent to the 1600 metre [meter] chute and the installation of a new automated pop-up irrigation system." Mentions other problems aimed at water conservation around Victoria, including "the completion of new horse stalls, sand rolls and wash bays at Geelong, which incorporate an 18 kilolitre tank collecting the runoff from the new building, and providing this via a pressure pump to run the horse washes." |
