Abstract/Contents:Nine clones of Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) were evaluated for resistance to Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith), the parameters considered being survival, development rate, pupal weight, leaf consumption, and preference. By using a host-suitability index, 'Tifton 44' was rated intermediately resistant and 'Tifton 292' was rated highly resistant to larval feeding. Preference tests showed that 'Coastcross 1' was preferred over all other clones. The resistance in 'Tifton 292' is primarily antibiosis.
