Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of technology as a possible way to increase efficiency in golf course management. Details the process of collecting and managing data and updating company handbooks. Explains that "many...forms [can be] created on Excel or Word software and are tailored for [individual] use. Generic versions of some of these forms can be purchased as well." Concludes that "well laid out plans, daily structure, rules, policies and tracking systems are all needed for any company to survive in this increasingly competitive market. Laptops, PDAs [personal digital assistants], cell phones, [and] software...are all here to stay. The totally paperless work environment may never happen, but taking advantage of technology will help make [a superintendent's] daily life more manageable and profitable."
