| Abstract/Contents: | Profiles annual bluegrass (Poa annua L.) as "a problematic weed for golf course managers in many regions" of the United States. Describes a study conducted in 2005 at Hampshire Greens Golf Course in Ashton, Maryland. States that "the purpose of this study was to assess the ability of Lesco's Fe [iron] + N [nitrogen] to mask the chlorosis elicited by Velocity and to better quantify the level of P. annua control provided by Velocity." Concludes that "an integrated program implementing the use of plant growth regulators and Velocity as well as irrigation and fertility practices to favor bentgrass competitiveness likely will provide the best approach to P. annua control." |
