Abstract/Contents:States that "although turf makes an excellent surface for runoff reduction, it does not prevent runoff entirely." Suggests that "management practices as simple as mowing height can improve [the] environment and reduce [the] losses of nutrients and pesticides." Describes studies conducted by turfgrass scientists in Oklahoma concerning "the runoff-reducing effects of buffers." Concludes that "a simple mowing height adjustment for turf bordering a water feature is enough to reduce the amount of runoff that enters the feature."
