Abstract/Contents:Discusses rhizomes in tall fescue. States that "two varieties...are aggressively being marketed as having rhizomes: Labrynth and Grande II. Of these two, Grande II has the best turf quality." Also mentions research focused on developing tall fescue varieties with good winter performance. States that "this improvement would be a great boost to the sports turf industry, since winter is a period of downtime for fields...improvement of winter vigour could enable turf managers to achieve some degree of recovery during winter and early spring."
