Question:"A newly sown lawn shows quite large areas which are becoming a red brown colour. Would you examine the turf sample we have despatched and advise us on the problem."
Answer/Response:"Your sample arrived and we have made an immediate examination. The grass is suffering from post emergence damping off, the organisms Pythium and Fusarium culmorum being found. We suggest you apply Cheshunt compound at 1 oz. to 1/2 gal of water per sq. yd., or alternatively a mercurial fungicide."
