Question:"Brown patches are appearing on one of our bowling greens. We would be pleased to have your recommendations for dealing with this defect. A sample of the affected turf is being sent to you."
Answer/Response:"The discoloration on the sample appears to be due to some kind of scorch and not to fungal disease, although there is some fungal infection on the foliage after incubation. The latter may have occurred as a result of the grass being checked by scorch. An application of fungicide would be desirable but the scorch patches should recover naturally."
