| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "instructive turf plots" located at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Discusses how instructor John Royals II intended to "construct both USGA bermudagrass and bentgrass greens" and how Royals obtained drainage supplies, irrigation supplies, gravel layer material, and greens mix. Describes the construction of the green, installation of the drainage system, installation of the gravel layer, placement of the greens mix, and the construction of the area around the green. Also describes how the students installed the irrigation system using Toro 1 inch valves and Toro Super 800 series heads. Concludes that "when it was cool enough to plant tall fescue, students seeded the ramp area." |
