Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the floating green in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada "built for the 2005 Ultimate Shootout, a made for television event located at Canada Place, downtown Vancouver." Explains that "the barge itself was provided and adapted by the Washington Marine Group in North Vancouver. Three sides of the barge were extended up to ten feet out and contoured to give the illusion of not being a barge, but actually a floating island." Describes the construction of the green, stating that "all materials, machinery and tools had to be craned on and off the barge during the installation, and strict safety measures needed to be taken while the project was completed." |
