| Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the process of preparing Scott Stadium at the University of Virginia (UVa) for a large concert, stating that "not only would this concert have the largest and most elaborate concert stage ever built, but also [UVa] would host this concert on October 6, 2005, in the middle of football season." States that "pre-evaluation, communication, preparation, protection, post-evaluation and recovery are the keys to making sure an event runs smoothly without doing any lasting damage to [the] turf." Recommends collecting information and having a planning meeting where "all the possible needs for the event are discussed." Suggests that in preparation to facilitate the event an assessment of what needs to be done should be made. States that "at the point in which all the communication, evaluation and preparation for the event have taken place, it is time to issue a contract" which "should specially state everything for which each party is responsible." States that in evaluating damage after the event "through the planning and preparation previously mentioned, the condition of [the] facility will fall within a range in which solutions for recovery have already been established." |
