Abstract/Contents: | Briefly describes a human-bear interaction at Crystal Springs Golf Resort in Hardyston, New Jersey. States that, George Petta, a memeber of the maintenance crew encountered a bear cub and its mother while changing cups. States that the mother bear "took a couple of swings at [Petta's] face, and he crossed his arms to protect himself...He [got] a bloody nose, and the bear tore his shirt off." Reports that "New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection officials...trapped the bear the following day and destroyed it, a must whenever a bear attacks a human, according to state law." |
