Abstract/Contents: | Reports that two 17-year-olds and two-18 year olds vandalized Peacock Gap Golf and Country Club in San Rafael, California. States that "three of the teens played golf at Peacock earlier in the day and hid their rented golf car on the course. They returned later that evening with a fourth suspect, taking the car on a joyride before crashing it into a control box that monitors irrigation heads on [holes] 4-6...The crash initialized part of Peacock's 45-year-old hydraulic irrigation system, dumping water onto the course unchecked at a rate of 1,450 gallons per minute. The teens then ditched the golf car in a pond on the course." Mentions that the teens could be responsible for damages exceeding $9,000. |
