States that "Detroit officials announced in May [2006] plans to sell the course to Premium Golf LLC as part of an overally plan to alleviate the city's projected $50 million budget defecit. But the city reponed the bidding process after nearby residents learned that the course, which is located in suburban Huntington Woods, could be closed and the land developed." Discusses restrictions placed on the land, stating that Rackham "placed a deed restriction on the property stating that it must be operated as a public golf course and maintained properly, or ownership would revert to his heirs." Mentions the involvement of the Donald Ross Society.
