Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the potential benefits of rolling greens, stating that "rolling is agronomically beneficial because it allows for a higher cut, making putting suface turf less susceptible to disease." Explains that "the most common complaint among superintendents who rolled regularly was burning on the edges, but that was because of the sudden change of direction of certain types of riding rollers while turning." States that "green speeds increase by as much as 6 inches on days that [they are] rolled." Concludes that "whatever [the] method...[one] should take daily green speed measurements and mow and roll accordingly to maintain the ideal speed." |
