| Question: | "We have 44 ha (110 acres) of land which we are intending to sow down to provide a grass air-strip for our gliders. We hear that you are the best people to advise us on a suitable seed mixture for the purpose." |

| Answer/Response: | "We can indeed advise you on the most suitable seed mixture to use and, indeed, on the whole development. One of the seed mixtures containing perennial ryegrass listed in Table 7 of the enclosed "Turfgrass 1982" booklet should be suitable. The seed mixture is only one item, of course. There are likely to be other considerations involved, such as grading, subsoil cultivation, drainage and possible topsoil improvement before the final seed bed preparation and sowing down. Acting either as Consultants-in-Charge (in which case we would assume complete responsibility for the whole development) or as specialist Consultants to your own Architect or Engineer, we could help you to ensure that the new air-strip is constructed with the maximum efficiency and the minimum expense. If you wish to take advantage of our services, please let us know and we can then make the necessary arrangements to inspect the site." |
