Question:"I would be obliged if you would advise me as to any ill effects which might result if we discontinue "switching" the greens to disperse dews."
Answer/Response:"Switching or drag brushing to drop dews on bowling greens and golf greens is regarded as an important part of routine management. The main benefits are the reduction of the risk of disease infection and surface preparation for mowing. Switching the greens also improves playing conditions at the time. We consider that it is false economy to cut out this operation."
