Question:"Our local town water supply contains chlorine. Will the application of this water to the bowling green be damaging to the turf?"
Answer/Response:"It is our experience that anything that is fit to drink is certainly fit for the bowling green! We have no knowledge of damage to turf caused by chlorine used in town water supplies. When it comes to the chlorine in swimming bath water where the amount might be considerably larger, the position is not quite so simple and depends on the actual concentration."
