| Answer/Response: | "Seeding at this time of year cannot be guaranteed. The optimum time for sowing is during late August. The later the sowing after the end of August the less chance of successful results. This does not mean that you can never get results from a November sowing, but the chances are considerably reduced. Although the grass will germinate satisfactorily if temperature and moisture conditions are right, the finer components of the mixture are particularly liable to be killed off by winter frosts before they are sufficiently established. You are then left with coarser grass such as perennial ryegrass surviving." |
