| Abstract/Contents: | Details the process of top dressing golf greens, stating that "most clubs and golfers would agree upon the fact that the best greens are those that are firm, smooth and well paced. There is a strong correlation between appropriate top dressing and the production of these characteristics." Discusses the development of top dressing equipment and states that "mechanisation...has allowed many of the top dressing demands of greenkeepers and agronomists to be met." Concludes that "top dressing remains one of the most important management practices on any golf course. It can now be delivered more effectively and more flexibly than ever before. The concept of applying volume without disturbing golf is attractive and should be embraced. It may bring you nearer to the year-round excellence you seek." |
