Question: | "As we continue to have 1 1/2-6 in. of snow on our greens will you kindly advise us (a) if there is any chemical than can safely be used to accelerate the melting of snow (b) is Fusarium patch disease likely to follow (c) at what stage during the thaw may the greens be played on." |
Answer/Response: | "(a) We know of no chemical that can be safely used to accelerate thawing. (b) Often attacks of Fusarium follow snow and you should be prepared for it by having a suitable stock of fungicide ready. (c) On the whole keep off the greens until they have dried up and the frost is thoroughly out of the ground." |
