States that "summary data from the first year (2004) of the three-year study...indicated significant differences in turf quality and percentage incidence of anthracnose on bentgrass/Poa annua putting green plots mowed by Toro's Flex 21 and Greensmaster 1000, and Jacobsen's Tournament Cut 22 and Greens King 518 greensmowers." Details the materials and methods used in the study. Argues that "the preliminary results of the studt wouldn't have created such a stir had [the] research project been funded. As is typical of unfunded studies, the preliminary summary was released in part to create awareness and to possibly attract funding for the balance of the study." |
