Abstract/Contents: | Describes damages caused by a fire at Heathrow Country Club in Heathrow, Florida. Lists items lost in the fire, including "10 Toro walk mowers; two Toro 6500 fairway mowers; eight utility vehicles; one spray rig; one...Toro ProCore 648 aerator; all of the tech's tools, including a lift; two bunker rakes; all of his 14-member crew's work boots, shovels and rakes; [and] the irrigation system's central control unit." Explains that "the fire was caused by a gas-powered golf car used to tow battery-powered cars to the barn." States that while the course "can make do with a makeshift operation, the turf cannot get by without irrigation. The fire fried the computerized central control system and disabled its connections to satellite boxes on the course." Explains that superintendent Brandon Sims will use night watermen until a new irrigation controller is installed. |
