Abstract/Contents:Discusses research conducted to control beetle populations on golf courses. States that "researchers at Purdue University are studying ways to develop trees that produce toxins that are deadly to the beetles. In Massachusetts, researchers on Cape Cod are working to introduce a natural enemy to the beetle - tree-burrowing wasps." States that a "solution could be stingless Asian wasps that feed on beetle larvae. The wasps can detect movement of beetle larvae inside the tree and bore through bark up to 6 inches thick to find their prey."
