Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "geosynthetic matrix bunker liners," stating that "because minimizing contamination has become as critical as retaining sand on sloped faces, manufacturers have responded with products designed solely to prevent contamination, as well as others to do both." States that "the potential of the first commercial bunker liner, BunkerWoll, to control erosion on sloped bunker faces was identified in the early 1990s by Scott Anderson." Describes bunker liners from different manufacturers, including Sand daM, Sandtrapper GEO, BunkerGuard, SandMat, and Trapmaster. Suggests "[looking] at the 'crush factor,' or the tendency to compact under the weight of sand over time, and whether they tear away or not when snagged by a rake." Also suggests that "compatibility with the sand to be used...is critical." Concludes that "the ideal bunker sand dries down in the morning to leave a half-inch of fluff on the surface, remaining moist and firm beneath." |
