Abstract/Contents:Briefly discusses an issue of Canada geese on Braintree, Massachusetts' municipal golf course. States that "since 1995, officials...have had a novel way of ridding the city's municipal golf course of resident Canada geese: open it to hunters." Cites health hazards as the a reason for this action, stating that "the non-migratory geese, which number as many as 400 on the course, pose a health hazard to golfers and municipal employees. As a remindrer of their presence, each bird leaves behind as much as 3 pounds of droppings per day." Concludes that "state and local officials have set two hunting seasons for the course, [December] 16-[Januray] 7 and [January] 15-[February] 16 [2005-2006]. The Crew has one bit of advice for hunters - walk softly and carry a big scooper."
