States that the city "recommended that the golf course secure the area, limit access to that portion of the course and post warning signs to alert their patrons... [but] by late November [2005], city officials said Chevy Chase had not instituted any of the city's recommendations to alert golfers to the potential danger of the reservoir." Describes the reservoir, "the concrete lid over the structure", and the concrete pillars that support the roof. Details the "hairline cracks in the footings that support the pillars" and states that "the best thing to do is to replace the roof and the support columns." Discusses plans that "call for the reservoir, which provides water for drinking and fire protection for the lower portion of Chevy Chase Canyon and a large part of northeastern Glendale, to be dismantled and rebuilt according to modern specifications."
