Abstract/Contents:Discusses controversy over a greensmower study... conducted by turfgrass researcher Frank Rossi, Ph.D., of Cornell University. States that "Jacobsen's flex-head Tournament Cut 22 and fixed-head Greens King 518, along with Toro's floating head Flex 21 and fixed-head Greensmaster 1000 were being scrutinized for their effects on bentgrass/Poa annua test plots at Cornell...To Jacobsen, the study, affirms what it has long contended about tis mowers. But to the Toro Co., the study was flawed in methodology and execution." Concludes that "studies are helpful, but experiences and instincts remain superintendents' best guides."
