Abstract/Contents: | Discusses potential methods for preventing internal turf stress, stating that "the most effective countermeasure for dealing with...turf stress is not found in a soil science text." Suggests that "the secret to warding off the crippling stress that rides shotgun with managing a golf course is threefold: good nutrition (drink more water, eat more fiber, fruits and vegetables, fewer meals from a bag or box), consistent sleep patterns (go to bed at the same time every night) and exercise (this should include something that makes [one] breathe hard and takes [them] to the brink of obsession, not just riding around in a golf car, but check with [a] doctor first)." Also suggests that "superintendents who seek stress relief with endorphin therapy will be surprised with the positive results." |
