Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of fountain aerators to "help ensure your pond or lake remain, or even become, algae-free, clean and attractive." States that "floating aerators are designed to establish a continual pond turnover and introduce oxygen to the water appropriately and in the proper quantity." Describes the difference between aerators, display fountains, and aerating fountains. Explains that "aerators are 'workhorse' machines focused on introducing oxygen into a larger volume of water, as opposed to creating an attractive display or spray pattern.,, [display] fountains do aerate to a certain extent, [but] they will not make any measurable difference within the impoundment and the oxygen level of the water... aerating fountains are a combination of the above-mentioned 'workhorse' aerator and the display fountain." Concludes that "once you determine your own aeration needs, selecting the best product for you may now be an easier task."
