Abstract/Contents:Discusses "rapid etiolating of random Poa annua tillers." States that "similar, or the same, phenomena have been reported as 'Mad Tiller Disease' and 'Ghost Grass'." Reports that "there has been speculation that the problem is caused by a fungus, Fusarium moniliforme, that causes similar symptoms in rice. It does appear...that the plant malfunctions and produces too much gibberellic acid (GA)" Concludes that "the symptoms disappear within a few weeks and no turf loss or damage typically occurs."
