Abstract/Contents:Presents a study conducted "to evaluate the effectiveness of a fungicide (ProStar), and two wetting agents (Cascade and Primer) for their ability to decrease the incidence and severity of LDS [localized dry spot] on a creeping bentgrass area with a history of chronic LDS." Discusses the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "turf was rated for quality, color and chemical injury." Reports that "no LDS was evident between 10 May [2002] and 20 June...Trace amounts of LDS, however, became apparent by 10 July." Concludes that "no treamtment consistently reduced LDS incidence or severity. Applying Cascade at the high label rate should be used with caution to avoid yellowing of 'Providence' creeping bentgrass."
