Abstract/Contents:Presents a study conducted to determine the effectiveness of Mesotrione, Barricade, and Dimension for crabgrass control on perennial ryegrass. Details the materials and methods used in the study. Reports that "given the severe crabgrass pressure, all Barricade treatments and Dimension (0.25+0.25 lb/A [pounds per acre]) were judged to have provided exceptional crabgrass control. Good control was provided by Dimesion (0.5 lb/A), but the crabgrass levels on 16 [August 2002] were commercially unacceptable (i.e., >5% crabgrass cover)." Concludes that "from a commercial perspective (<5% crabgrass cover), best control was provided by Barricade 60WG and Barricade 40L (0.5+0.25 lb/A)."
