Abstract/Contents:Discusses frost damage, explaining that "the dew becomes ice crystals that 'harden' the grass cells, so instead of being flexible, they get brittle, like an eggshell. With pressure, even walking on it, those cells can crack like an eggshell and damage the plant." States that "usually, the best solution for frost on the field is waiting for the sun to burn it off." Also mentions watering the field to help wash off frost. Cautions that "it doesn't work if the temperatures are too cold." Suggests that "those fields with inground heating systems can turn up the temperatures a little and either keep the frost from forming, or melt it off as it forms."
