Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of arsenic-based pesticides and mentions the development of "an industry 'task force'...[that] disagrees with a proposed reclassification of arsenic-based pesticides by the U.S. [United States] Environmental Protection Agency [EPA]." Lists arsenic-based pesticides, including MSMA, DSMA, CAMA, and cacodylic acid which "are used as postemergent herbicides in turf care." Explains that "based on a large body of scientific data, the task force believes that the organic arsenicals do not pose an unreasonable risk to workers, farmers, the public or the environment when used according to label directions." |
