| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the introduction of a new accreditation program from the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA). Explains that the program is "accessible to all superintendent members [and] it provides two separate opportunities to demonstrate competence in golf course management and to be recognized by peers and others in the golf industry...'Accredited Golf Superintendent' (AGS) and 'Master Superintendent' (MS)." Discusses the requirements of each accreditation and explains that "one of the unique features of this program is the extent to which its design makes it accessible to all superintendents." Emphasizes that "this initiative is a key cornerstone in CGSA's overall goal of improving educational opportunities and setting standards for superintendents." Concludes that "doing nothing for the profession may have no ill effects, but continuing to develop [CGSA's] educational process and professional image will forever enhance and improve this association and the superintendent profession." |
