Abstract/Contents:There are many factors involved in the prevention of turfgrass diseases. Cultural methods and maintenance practices can lead to an increase in disease problems in intensively managed lawns, or aid in the prevention of such diseases by careful monitoring. Pythium diseases, Rhizoctonia diseases, dollar spot, and fusarium blight are several fungal diseases which can be controlled through careful management of turf establishment, stress control, irrigation, and mowing practices.
