| Abstract/Contents: | "RE-45601 (SELECT) is a new selective postemergence grass herbicide under development by Chevron Chemical Company, Agricultural Chemicals Division for use in soybeans, cotton, peanuts, sugar beets, potatoes, alfalfa, and most vegetable crops. In the herbicidal class cyclohexanedione-oxime, RE-45601 is effective against a wide range of annual and perennial grasses. Single applications of 84 to 140 gm ai/ha provide effective control of annual grasses and johnsongrass [Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.]. Rates of 280 gm ai/ha or multiple applications may be required for some perennial grasses such as bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.]. An oil concentrate is recommended at 2.34 L/ha for all postemergence applications. Best results have een obtained when grass species are actively growing and less than 20 cm in height. Preemergence activity for annual grass control has been observed from application rates of 140 to 280 gm ai/ha when applied preemergence or preplant incorporated to many broadleaf crops." |
