Abstract/Contents:Explains that "white grubs are a constant source of injury throughout eastern Ohio, and to a lesser extent in other parts of the state." Discusses the three-year life cycle of white grubs and that "damage is greatest every third year." Suggests that "damage in pastures can be reduced by maintaining a compact turf in a high state of fertility." Adds that "the same is true on golf turf", and suggests using Chlordane on "grubs with a one-year life cycle." Mentions that "lead arsenate controls all white grubs, but the initial action is slow."
