| Abstract/Contents: | "Fenoxaprop caused an unacceptable level of discoloration to creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds. 'Penncross') turf at rates of 0.06 lb ai/A or above. When fenoxaprop (0.04, 0.06 and 0.08 lb ai/A) was tank mixed with a safener (0.55 lb/A Fe plus0.5 lb N/1000 ft2) acceptable turf quality was maintained. The high rate of fenoxaprop (0.12 lb ai/A) plus safener elicited an objectionable yellow-brown mottling of turf. Oxadiazon (3.0 lb ai/A), pendimethalin (1.5 lb ai/A), diclofop (2.0 lb ai/A) and prodiamine (0.5 + 0.5, 0.75 + 0.75 and 1.0 + 1.0 lb ai/A) caused unacceptable discoloration or loss of density in creeping bentgrass. Fenoxaprop tank mixed with safener plus either pendimethalin or prodiamine caused severe injury and loss of bentgrass turf. Diclofop applied at 1.0 lb ai/A discolored turf for about 10 days, but the 0.5 lb ai/A caused no visual injury to bentgrass." |
